This issue we have one Web site related directly to individual networking skills and two free resources for small and medium-size businesses. What is great about the two online resources is they are free and associated with reputable business magazines, The Wall Street Journal and Business Week. Both can be great for browsing over morning coffee or bookmarking for references.

Networking Quotient
Interesting Web site with an online survey where you rate your networking quotient. You register for free, they send you a link, you answer a few questions and then see the results. And you can e-mail them to yourself. Take a look. Kind of fun, although there is a link to Amazon.com with an offer for a book by the survey's author.

Start Up Journal
The Startup Journal published by The Wall Street Journal Center for Entrepreneurs. A fact-filled Web site with lots of resources including links for local business help, a free program to develop a mini business plan and plenty of free articles, including the results of a new Harris Interactive poll showing that Americans are gaining confidence in the country's small business leaders. When asked how much confidence they have in leaders of a range of public and private institutions, 54 percent expressed a "great deal" of confidence in leaders of small businesses.

Business Week - Small Biz
A section of the Business Week Web site, this resource offers tips, advice and encouragement to small business owners in the form of articles in a number of categories, including Getting Started, Sales and Marketing, Success Stories and more. Also includes the content of the larger Business Week site.
