Online presence increases exposure and revenues

The Reminder's online presence is a natural extension of our community newspapers.

We upgraded our web site four years ago to a content management system that allows our staff to easily add and update copy through our web browser, freeing us from the static web model that relies on a webmaster to make changes.

News from all our editions is available online. These online news articles have grown into a community archive, a resource that is available long after the newspaper has been recycled. We offer a searchable database that brings people in touch with their hometown, local news, linking people to where they live.

As our online traffic has increased so has our online advertising revenue, making it more attractive for area businesses to place a banner ad on our web site linked to their web sites, allowing our clients to combine their print and web advertising. This increases their search engine page ranking as well as making their site more available to the online community.

Because of the favorable results from our own web site's editable interface, we are now offering this web site tool to our customers.

We've partnered with a consultant whose design and technical team, along with our in-house web department, have been designing and developing web sites for many of our community businesses.

This is an exciting enterprise, as more revenue is going to online advertising, so is the pressure for an online web presence. Businesses are realizing that their web site is the face of their business to the virtual world. We work with our customers, creating sites that are inviting for the user, supply the information they need and are easy to navigate. It is a partnership that we take seriously, our business depends upon the vibrancy and prosperity of our local communities.

Our online presence works for us. It can work for you, too. After all, we are in this together.

Sincerely,

Chris & Dan Buendo
