Love your customers, love your product, and love your employees

Love them all, not just on Valentine's Day, but all year long. When our dad started The Reminder newspapers in 1962, he had very little in the way of financial resources. However, he did have a deep commitment to his customers, his publications and his employees. It is now 44-plus years later and in today's global economy, the same rules still apply.

Every businessperson knows they should take good care of their customers. The really successful business people know they need to go one step further they need to "love" their customers. To survive today you need to find ways to show your customers that you care about them, not just your bottom-line. Look for opportunities to partner with your customers to do cross-promotion, to help each other's businesses grow.

We all know the importance of product quality. Really successful businesses don't stop there. They constantly seek input from their customers on ways to make their products better. (Which, by the way, is exactly how our Business-to-Business Magazine was born. Our advertisers told us they wanted a better way of reaching local businesses and our staff responded!) In addition to customer input, really successful companies need a champion for every product. Our dad was The Reminder's champion. His theory was that no matter how good the paper was it could always get better.

To survive and prosper in today's global economy, we need the help of every employee on our team. It is our belief that employees work best when they know they are appreciated even loved by their bosses and owners.

A company is nothing more than the sum of all its individual parts. To make your company a true success, make sure you take time to let your employees know that they play a key role in your success.

We welcome your input, your comments and your ideas. If you have any suggestions regarding our new Business-to-Business Magazine please contact us. We wish you the best in operating your businesses successfully.
