Something is happening, and you don't know what it is...

Yes it's Bob Dylan. Yes, we argue it now applies to the Pioneer Valley. What is it? It's not the machining jobs that once flourished and have moved euphemistically "offshore." It's not the paper mills. Or the other manufacturing jobs that used to dot the Valley. It's something apparently under the local radar screen but traced by national ones.
It is entrepreneurs and linkage and outsourcing and creating not only a presence but also a comfortable and profitable way of life without having to move to Boston or New York.
This issue is about awards. Local companies in technology, in health care, in human services and non-profits have won awards for their efforts and we are pleased to give them some attention locally. So learn how they have been successful and learn that there are innovative and exciting movements afoot from which we all can take something away.
